Wood Flooring Pro's Truck and Trailer Stolen at Gas Station

On May 16, Shawn Patrick, co-owner of River City Hardwood Floors in Wichita, Kan., stopped at a gas station in Wichita for a drink, and in the minutes he was gone, someone saw the keys in the truck and drove away with the truck and his wood floor trailer, according to KAKE.com

Because of GPS technology, Patrick was able to locate his trailer two hours after the truck and trailer were stolen. It was only four blocks from him home, but the $23,000 worth of wood flooring tools and equipment were gone, and his truck was nowhere to be found, he told KAKE.

More astoundingly, Patrick and his wife then did find where their truck was taken and got security footage from a neighbor showing the stolen goods being taken into a home, but the police said there wasn't enough evidence to go further with the investigation, he said.

“Don’t ever let your guard down, always take your keys, always lock your doors. Even if you’re going to be, like I was, I was only 10 feet away from my truck. I didn’t ever think this would happen,” Patrick told KAKE.
