My friend and professional colleague Lionel Taylor passed away the first week of October at the age of 76. Lionel operated a wood floor refinishing business, Taylor’d Flooring Ltd., in Southampton, Bermuda, for over 50 years, and I first met him about 30 years ago during my first opportunity to work in Bermuda when I reached out to all the local wood flooring pros on the island and he was the only one who returned my call. I helped him tune up his Lägler Hummel, and we were good friends ever since. After that, his son, Damon, came to Massachusetts for training and worked with me for a month. Lionel was a very smart man and ran a good business—he did all of the higher class sand-and-finish work on the island, and if you wanted a proper job done, you called him. He was hardworking, thrifty, and dedicated to his family and the wood floor profession. He will be missed and not forgotten by all of us who knew him. Rest in peace, good friend
