US Hardwood Flooring Imports Hit Lowest Level Since 2021

Monthly imports of hardwood flooring fell below $5 million in August for the first time since February 2021, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Trade Statistics data.

August was the third straight month U.S. imports fell. Imports fell 20% from July to August and 26% from August 2023 to August 2024.

Despite the decline, imports from the top trade partner, Indonesia, increased 18% in August. 

Year-over-year imports are up for most countries. China say a 22% increase in imports year-over-year, while Canada saw a 36% increase.
