Mirka (Jeppo, Finland) opened its first production facility outside of Europe, located in Indianapolis.
Mirka has been active in the United States for over 30 years through its sales subsidiary Mirka USA.
The Indianapolis facility will process large jumbo rolls of abrasive materials and refine them into finished products tailored for the American market.
The site is led by Donnie Hartley, an experienced industry professional who oversees day-to-day operations and the ramp-up of production.
“The timing is nearly perfect. With this production facility in the U.S., we are reinforcing our position in a key market and enhancing our competitiveness. It also provides a solid foundation for future growth,” Mirka CEO Stefan Sjöberg said in a statement. “This strategic investment is a vital step in our ambition to be closer to our customers and to meet their increasing demands for fast delivery and flexibility.
