Kährs Group (Nybro, Sweden) is bolstering its commitment to sustainability by producing and sourcing flooring products closer to its customers, it says.
Kährs has begun this initiative in the U.S. by sourcing American-produced flooring for its North American market.
The company’s next step is to consolidate the sourcing and production of wood flooring for Nordic customers at its Nybro plant.
Kährs also plans to transition flooring production from its plant in Satulung, Romania, to “focus on supporting central European markets.”
The company said the planned changes will impact approximately 90 employees at the Romanian facility.
"We are committed to serving our customers in a way that aligns with our sustainability goals while improving local availability and relevance," Kährs Group CEO Johan Magnusson said in a statement. "At the same time, we deeply value and respect the dedication of our colleagues in Romania, who have been an integral part of our success."
