The Missouri General Assembly introduced legislation to combat misleading and deceptive wood marketing, The Missouri Times reported.
SB 760 and HB 1537 aim to prevent sellers from marketing products as wood when, in fact, they are synthetic wood.
Missouri’s forest products are valued at $10 billion, and the industry employs over 42,000 Missourians across the state, including sawmill workers, lumber workers and flooring producers, The Missouri Times reported.
