50% of U.S. Small Business Owners Expect Revenue Declines Due to Tariffs

Half of small business owners expect revenue declines due to current or future tariffs, according to Alignable's May Tariff Report.

May's tariff concerns are up from 44% in April and 30% in January.

Alignable’s report is based on 2,392 survey responses collected between April 9 and April 24.

Meanwhile, 26% of owners report that they’ve already taken a financial loss, citing income losses directly tied to the tariffs.

The report also found 20% of entrepreneurs fear they won’t make it through the year if tariff conditions persist.

On the flip side, 20% of small business owners expect tariffs to boost their revenue, up slightly from 18% in April’s report.
