Stauf USA Seeks Technical Director of Adhesive and Coatings, Logistics Manager

Stauf USA is hiring a technical director of adhesives and coatings and a logistics manager in Tennessee.

The technical director will be responsible for working with the research and development of adhesive products and collaborating with the sales force and technical directors at the distribution level. The position is located in Cordova, Tenn.

Preferred skills include hands-on experience with flooring adhesives, epoxy coatings or similar products, strong presentation skills and public speaking skills.

Key responsibilities of the technical director include:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the technical vision and strategy for the adhesive division in alignment with the company's overall business objectives. 
  • Product Development: Lead and manage the research and development team in creating innovative adhesive products, ensuring they meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and market demands. 
  • Technology Advancement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in adhesive technology and industry trends, integrating new technologies into our product development processes to for market share acquisition. 
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure consistent and superior product performance, adhering to industry standards and customer expectations. 
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of product development strategies and successful product launches. 
  • Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and eventually manage any other team member(s) and or distribution technical departments that are in need of training within the adhesive division. 
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for research and development activities, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to drive effective and efficient product development processes. 
  • Market Analysis: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities for product innovation and development, taking into account customer needs and competitive offerings.

The logistics manager will oversee all facets of domestic and international logistics, freight coordination, and order processing for a designated client base. The position is based in Memphis, Tenn.

Applicants must have over five years of logistics, transportation coordination or order fulfillment experience.

Key responsibilities of the logistics manager include:

  • Receive and process domestic and U.S.-based orders via phone and/or email.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to emails related to transportation, product support, and inventory inquiries.
  • Provide high-touch customer support throughout the order cycle, including order acknowledgments, shipment tracking, and invoicing.
  • Manage returns, claims, and damaged goods processes; issue credits or adjust invoices as needed.
  • Enter and manage Less Than Truckload (LTL), Truckload, and small parcel shipments using platforms such as Kuebix, FedEx Management System, and other internal tools.
  • Obtain and compare freight quotes and coordinate timely pickups with selected carriers.
  • Communicate daily with carriers and logistics partners to ensure efficient shipment execution and issue resolution.
  • Oversee all third-party freight logistics managed by Stauf USA and prepare for future international container shipments.
  • Finalize and invoice orders for all brands, incorporating accurate product costs, freight charges, and tracking data.
  • Send finalized invoices to customers and ensure accurate delivery of all documentation.
  • Make the necessary order or quantity adjustments before finalizing shipments.
