A two-alarm fire caused by the spontaneous combustion of “stained-soaked rags” and sawdust at a Kingstowne, Va., townhome resulted in over $1 million in damage, according to a news release from the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

The fire began around 4:45 a.m. July 23 and originated on the patio of the townhome.
