Pending home sales decreased 0.8% from May to June and 2.8% from June 2024, according to the National Association of Realtors Pending Home Sales report.
On a regional month-over-month breakdown, the Northeast Pending Home Sales Index increased 2.1%, the Midwest decreased 0.8%, the South decreased 0.7% and the West decreased 3.9%.
“The data shows a continuation of small declines in contract signings despite inventory in the market increasing. Pending sales in the Northeast increased incrementally even though home price growth in the region has been the strongest in the country,” NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said in a statement.
