Unilin Technologies (Waregem, Belgium), the innovation and IP arm of floor manufacturer Unilin, recently launched a technology that produces flooring accessories directly from the original floor plank to perfectly match laminate, engineered wood and SPC materials. This allows accessories such as roundnose and square stair covers, transition profiles, and clickable skirtings to be the exact same design, texture and color as the rest of the flooring.
Historically, accessory production has required extensive color-matching processes— Unilin’s new technology is meant to save time and money by eliminating the need for color matching between flooring and accessories, the company says. The technology “guarantees perfect uniformity between the floor and all accompanying accessories, dramatically simplifying production while improving installation and visual consistency,” Unilin reports.
