WFB Briefs: NAFCT Partners With TradeTap for Online Training, Consumer Sentiment Is Up Month-Over-Month, More

The National Association of Floor Covering Technicians announced a training partnership with TradeTap, an online training and certification platform for the flooring industry. All NAFCT online courses are now hosted on the TradeTap Training Hub.

Consumer sentiment was 55.2 in July, a month-over-month increase of almost 12%, according to the Index of Consumer Sentiment from the University of Michigan. Surveys of Consumers Director Joanne Hsu pointed out that sentiment was still 11% below last year at the same time, adding that “Consumers remain focused on pocketbook issues like purchasing power, while political or military developments remain more in the background.”

Construction unemployment was 4.7% in June, a 1.3% increase from last year, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In all but three states (Connecticut, New Jersey and Rhode Island), construction unemployment ran below 7%.
