Registration for the National Association of Home Builders’ 2027 NAHB International Builders’ Show is now open. The show will return to Las Vegas, Feb. 2–4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and will include education and networking opportunities for the residential design and construction industry.
Residential construction spending was down 1.3% in July for a total of $871,205, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Year-over-year, residential construction spending was down 7.3%, while total construction fell 3.8%.
Open construction sector jobs increased in July to 326,000 from 298,000 in June, largely due to data center construction, according to a National Association of Home Builders analysis of data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Openings are up from 305,000 a year ago.
Single-family home construction declined in six of the seven geographic categories in the second quarter, according to a National Association of Home Builders analysis of data from the Home Building Geography Index. Second-quarter single-family construction contracted at a slower pace than it did during the same time last year.
