Senco (Cincinnati) will celebrate its 75th year of incorporation on Oct. 1. Founded in 1951 by Albert Julifs, Senco started out as a small business, eventually opening its first manufacturing facility in Cincinnati. Its two groundbreaking fastener products—paper-taped framing nails and coil nails—positioned Senco as a leader in pneumatic fastening systems.
“We created the world’s first pneumatic tackers. And in doing so, we didn’t just launch a product: we launched an industry,” CEO Cliff Mentrup said. “We set a new standard for what speed and ease on the assembly line could look like. The fastener and pneumatic tool business as the world knows it today was founded by Senco.”
Senco was acquired by Kyocera (Kyoto, Japan), a multinational ceramics and electronics manufacturer, in August 2017.
