Beasley Flooring to Purchase Mohawk Solid, Engineered Flooring Operations in Melbourne, Ark.

Beasley Flooring Products (Macon, Ga.), a subsidiary of the Beasley Group (Hazlehurst, Ga.), announced it has entered into a letter of intent to purchase Mohawk Industries’ (Calhoun, Ga.) solid and engineered hardwood flooring manufacturing operations in Melbourne, Ark.

As part of the transaction, Mohawk will partner with Beasley Flooring in continuing to provide solid and engineered flooring products to customers, according to Beasley.

“Beasley is pleased to enter into this agreement with Mohawk, and we are excited to partner with them to provide high-quality products to both the solid and engineered flooring markets,” Beasley Group President and CEO Darrell Beasley said in a statement. “The operations in Melbourne will allow us to continue to expand our current production quickly and efficiently.”

The announcement did not disclose when the acquisition would be final.

The acquisition is Beasley’s second high-profile purchase this year. It acquired all of Shaw Industries’ solid hardwood flooring assets in April after Shaw elected to outsource the operations.

Along with Arkansas, Beasley has manufacturing operations located in Georgia and North Carolina.
