Hardwood Floors Forum to Host Floormasters Forum Archive

Kim Wahlgren Headshot

Starting today, the HF Forum community will notice some updates to the HF Forum.

In response to many requests from our forum community, new posts will now be grouped into two main categories: one for pros asking questions and one for the many consumers who seem to find us. If you're only interested in the posts from the pros, the new category structure will offer a way to easily bypass the consumer questions and find the pro-to-pro advice.

Most importantly, there is now a third main category: the archived content from the longtime online wood flooring forum “Shop Talk” on Floormasters.com. Floormasters was created in 1997 by our friend and wood flooring legend Bill Price Sr. Bill was known for selflessly sharing his knowledge of wood flooring with his fellow wood flooring professionals, so it was no surprise that he created and maintained a place online where pros in the industry could connect. We lost Bill in 2015 after he battled a lengthy illness, and his wife, Pat, contacted me about the possibility of the magazine hosting the content of the site so this vast database of wood flooring discussions would not be lost.

A link to all the threads from the Floormasters Shop Talk forum can now be found at the HF Forum.

“Bill's love for the wood flooring industry was paramount to 'who he was,' and he strived to help flooring contractors be the best they could be,” says Pat. “Our hope is that flooring contractors, experienced and in-experienced, will benefit from this information for many years. Thank you to all his many loyal followers who also shared tips with fellow contractors."

A link to all the threads from the Floormasters Shop Talk forum can now be found at the HF Forum. The threads are searchable but are no longer active. We hope you find that this resource—one of Bill’s many gifts to the industry—continues to provide useful knowledge for the wood flooring professionals Bill loved so dearly.
