A man in Greenbriar County, W. Va., filed a lawsuit against Lowe’s of West Virginia alleging that a hardwood floor he had installed in a property was defective and required replacing, according to WVRecord.com.

According to the lawsuit, which also named Lowe’s of Lewisburg and Hartco Flooring Co., the plaintiff purchased Bruce Hardwood from the Lewisburg, W.Va., Lowe’s in December 2014, and the installation was completed in May 2015. While cleaning and inspecting the floor post-installation, the plaintiffs claimed the floor was cracking, splitting and chipping, and they blamed the defects on the manufacturer.

The entire floor had to be replaced, but Lowe’s failed to repair and replace the flooring. The plaintiffs argue Lowe’s violated the breach of implied warranty.

The plaintiff seeks damages, interest and any other relief the court deems just.
