It took 36 grit to chip it off not sand it off; the finish fractured in peaces. The big machine was covered in a white chalk, a fine film totally covered the upper roller.

Once we got past that it was good. Did three cuts with the big machine and three cuts with the edger. Ethan did the rough cut while Joey was right behind him with the next cut. I ran the big machine trying to stay ahead of them. It was a concert of sander music; Like a great orchestra we were in perfect timing. We had the big machine, two edgers and two vacuums going. Hose cords and sweat going every where. No dust is the key; the biggest comment made today was, "How can you sand and have no dust?"
The GC doing other work was trying to tell us how he did floors back in the day ... well, please just go back to your day and leave me alone. It is funny how folks come around the sounds of the sanders. The day will go better Friday and we will have to final coat Saturday.
