The Pee House is down to the last coat, thank you very much, but wait, now we have a house that has a hall with water damage and the folks are hoarders. In the last year we have also done The Mouse House-a home full of mice droppings and d-CON boxes all over. Now the Hoarders Home. Bad luck comes in threes-glad it is over.

Mr. Charles from Nashville called me today asking for some insight with finishing and sanding. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me when a person of his skill level calls me and wants to share information. Pride may go before a fall, but today it was worth the trip. In the back of my mind I knew that hardworking men and woman in this trade were good folks, but the open, honest sharing of information and "trade secrets" is just outstanding. Thank you, Mr. Charles, for your wisdom and sharing with me today.
The NWFA class is going on Sept. 14, and my hope was to be able to go, but it will not be this time. I do miss the classes and folks that come, but in time and with a blessing from above I will get to go to the Expert Sand & Finish class in October. What can be picked up at the class is remarkable, for both the folks who come to share and the folks to who come to learn; it is just a great time and a better class.
Labor Day weekend will be of labor ... a 3,000 foot resand in a restaurant that will shut down from Friday night at 9 p.m. and must re-open Monday for supper. It is not a lot of sanding but it is cupped, and will all be cut on a 45 to get it flat. We have about 10 boards to replace and the truth is I am not as young as I once was. I'll work Friday then start Friday night and work till it has the seal coat before we stop. Once the seal coat is on, the young men can finish. "This Old Man Came Rolling Home" will be my song. "This old man/He sands floors..." Make up a good song and I will ask the Hardwood Floors mag to send you a T-shirt!
