Got a great start on the small job; Joey and I got the water-damaged hall out and new plywood and flooring installed. It's nice to have a good time as you work, and boy, did we joke around. Before we knew it, it was done and then we had to pack the tools. Is it not funny that to do 100 or 1,000 feet it takes the same amount of tools. I think it took us longer to put stuff away than to do the job.

We start the 3,000-foot job at nine p.m. Friday and we are already joking around with it: rock, paper, scissors to see who runs the edger all night, and we are betting on who wants to nap first. All bets are on the old man (like I am that old), but I am bringing a pillow just in case one of them do want to nap …I will let them use my pillow, being the nice guy that I am. "Old man," hmph, let's see who takes the first "time out" of the night. We must get the seal coat on Friday or early Saturday so we can get the last coat on Monday so it has time to dry.
What is the best thing about overnight jobs? The later it gets the dumber we get...dumb and stupid; if those walls could talk they just might have an America's Funniest Home Videos moment.
