Just Call Me the Mailman

Wayne Lee Headshot

Well, I took a few days off from the blog just to get my timeline back in order. We have had two jobs go way off the plan. The first job just got the wood that we were told would be ready two weeks ago, and for the other one, the drywall crew had to fix a big mess the framer made. They went 24" on the center ceiling with 3/8 drywall...so all that came down and had to be fixed. That put us behind a few weeks. Friday I had to run around town to get money from some folks that did not send the funds in the mail as they said. So, it was time for the mailman (me) to come and pick up the funds. Got to be ready to get the money!

The gym floor is being painted and the floor is flatter than it has been in years. They are happy with that job...good thing because they start Nov. 14 with the first home game. I got a call from for an estimate and tried to use the "How did you hear about us..." qualifying question someone had suggested. It went okay, but I feel like I'm giving the impression I am not wanting the job. So, my skills need to get better that that one. The guy did call my low-price friend, so it was time to share my skills and that the competition does not own his sanders, and plus he might want to ask him about insurance-we have one million dollars of "what if" backing us up. I hope this will be the right thing to do. Not telling lies; just giving him the real awareness.

I also got a call Saturday to come look at one job Monday night and one Monday morning, so with any luck we will get them both...let's keep the fingers crossed. Sorry for not taking time to write but my mind was on too many problems to think any more...at the end of the day we have every job worked out and should be able to keep folks happy.
