Monday was a fair day and we got a good amount of tile laid...I was sanding a 750 job while Joey and Jeff work on the tile. Truth be told it was a simple day, but then came the fun day. Today I needed to bring supplies to the tile job, drop off trash from the last job and then get back to the sand and finish job. I got a flat tire on the flatbed trailer after we got it loaded, which made the fix more of a pain. The homeowner changed the plans for the tile in the bathrooms, so now we have to order a mat for heating the floor. No big deal-just that it hurts the timeline for the jobs.
Yesterday I had in my ear radio while sanding the floor and I was just enjoyed the sounds; I do enjoy sanding. As strange as that seems, it is relaxing at times. Kind of a funny story: just as I was backing the trailer up to the job, the phone rings and the man asks if I can drop in sometime to look at his floors. Well, he asks, where I live and do I do work in Paris, TN… Here's the funny part: He was two doors down from the job where I was. I said "I can walk over in 2 minutes" and the man said "Now, what are the odds!"
I've never had that happen before … He was asking me about how we do floors, so said just come on down to the house we are working in and look for yourself. He was shocked to see the floor before we started and asked if he could come back after 4 to see what it looks like then. So he came back...the floor looks great and he said, "I cannot believe my eyes." Hope that was a good thing!
So now I am eating dinner and getting ready to go back to the sand job; I took a dinner break at home because my travel took me right past the house...leftover from supper is the best dinner around.
Off to work I go and you all have a safe day.
Here is a photo of the floor before we started; I'll post a pic of the floor when it's done.
