We start a new job today: water-damaged 1½-inch white oak. It's about 350 feet to demo and then a resand of the house. I hope we can get this done fast so that we can make up some time for next week.
I still am not looking forward to a day at the EPA lead class. More to the point, I am not looking forward to the test. It should be a good day, because we will one of three local floor contractors that can say we are trained. I called two of them and asked them to come. I was asked: Why call folks you have to bid against? Well, I want to be apples to apples and make sure that contractors follow the rules. Too many do not and then bid low. This may help get folks to review the bids and read if they are lead-safe. I will write that on every bid so folks will know we have the knowledge and the correct tools to keep them safe while work is going on in their home.
Well, I got to get to work and make some fun today ... Joey and I will be on this job until it is done.
