The bad deal came when he said that he was concerned with my hip. Some of you may know my left hip was replaced in '96; it has been giving me some fits, so now I have to get a bone scan...whatever that does.?

?So on to work for the day, I am tearing out the wood from the mold carpet last week. Here is what I am seeing, and I would like some insight from you all: This floor is hand-nailed with cut nails, and the nail spacing is 15-18 inches, unlike what we see today. I have been telling the crews that we need to nail about 8-10 inches. Why do we nail so close when back in the day they did not? I cannot tell you how many times folks tell me that they did not leave the wood on the job for more than one to two days and I am asking for the wood to be right by the moisture meter and hydrometer.?
Now I have told them that the home did not have AC back in the day, that is a big factor with the wood. The old flooring is NOFMA stamped from a Tennessee mill. The flooring is great; some of the flooring is 8-foot long, straight as an arrow and super clear. I am going to use a local mill's flooring on this job-Henry Country Hardwood here is Paris. I have used it in the past, and they make very good flooring.
My goal is to have the flooring out and the wood in for a few days before we install; while that is going on we have a one-room install to get done. It will be a full week, but that is great. Friday will be a bust for the bone scan thing; I do not know how they scan your bones when most of what is there is fake. My left hip is mostly steel, not bone ... oh well, sounds like they know more than I do.
