Wood flooring contractor John Blesing in Clifton, N.J., had an estimate recently that provided more excitement than he would have liked. As he stepped on the front steps of the home to leave, the concrete landing imploded, and he fell 10 feet into a hole. Thankfully, all he got from the fall was a jolt of adrenaline-and the job. "He's got a new patio, I got paid and I've got no bumps or bruises on me," Blesing says, adding a big understatement: "That was a weird estimate."
