We asked readers on Facebook and Instagram what they do with their time between finish coats. Here’s what they said.

Troy Stanfield

Depends, sometimes long lunch, sometimes I have a nearby job that I can coat at the same time or work on another part of it, sometimes supply runs, sometimes quotes, sometimes absolutely nothing at all.

Michael Hartman

Obviously, keep looking at the coat after the first hour, willing it to dry until you finally give up because all that building anxiety is just making the coat dry slower than usual.

Cardona Flooring

Forgot what waiting is 😎… LED finish = cured instantly, done and gone.

Daniel Springer

Chain-smoke cigarettes.

Mike Wong

Load trailer, clean house, jam music.

Brad Quarless

If the client says it’s Friday, then I don’t clean the van. 😂

Jim Hyde

Surfing, nap or the bar.

Paul Wilke

This is a great question. I utilize dry time to network with neighbors by knocking on doors, introducing myself, and offering consultations. For those not home, I leave door hangers. My visibility in the neighborhood, with my truck and yard sign, has likely piqued their interest.

Thomas Lane

Lunch beers.

Steve Heineken

OMG I’m going through this right now I've cleaned my trailer, blown all the equipment out, cleaned the bed of the truck, even tip-toed through now to open some windows, and I keep telling myself it’s so close to coat again. 🤦‍♂️

Juan Navarro
