WFB Briefs: Russia Logging Ban Impact; DHA Conference Scheduled; Canadian Housing Starts Fall 1.5%

Russia’s upcoming ban on certain logging exports could impact the activities of approximately 4,000 companies, Lesprom reported. The ban impacts exports of softwood logs and high-value hardwood, according to the report. The ban is slated to go into effect Jan. 1, 2022.

Canadian housing starts declined 1.5% in June to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 282,070 units. Urban starts fell 1.8%, and multiple urban starts fell 0.6%. The full report can be found here.
