NWFA Holds Two Las Vegas Schools
The NWFA held an Engineered Installation School June 26 in Las Vegas.

The NWFA also held an Intermediate Installation, Sand & Finish School in Las Vegas June 28-30. Seabaugh led the instruction for 18 students. People News
Owens Flooring Company (Shawano, Wis.) has appointed
Mike Ricker director of sales and marketing. Ricker has 15 years of experience in the industry, most recently working for Armstrong and Bruce Hardwood Floors.
Tracey Coleman is now handling all technical questions for Aerosmith Fastening Systems (Indianapolis). Kevin Greene recently resigned from the company.
By the Numbers
Wood flooring shipments for May 2006 totaled 43,010,000 square feet, according to
NOFMA: The Wood Floor Manufacturers Association. This is a 5 percent decrease compared with the same month last year and brings the year-to-date shipments to 217,446,000 square feet, a 4 percent increase over the same time period in 2005. The NOFMA data is from hardwood flooring manufacturers in the U.S., corresponding to actual figures from a majority of the known producing units, plus projections representing units for which actual data is occasionally provided or not provided. The flooring shipments reported include solid prefinished and unfinished oak, beech, birch, maple, hickory/pecan, ash, cherry and walnut.
