KKR Acquires Half of Tarkett
The company that controls the majority of Tarkett S.A., Societe d’Investissement Familiale (SIF) (Nanterre, France), has been partially acquired by buyout firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) (New York). KKR now owns 50 percent of SIF, which in turn has purchased the rest of the Tarkett shares it didn’t already own. A statement from KKR said the company hopes this partnership will support Tarkett’s management in the company’s global development through organic growth and selected acquisitions, as well as continue the company’s innovation. Didier Deconinck, of the Deconinck family that owns SIF and chairman of the supervisory board of Tarkett S.A., said the partnership between KKR and SIF enables minority shareholders who have previously supported Tarkett to leave on good terms and provides SIF with a sustainable basis to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the rapidly changing world.
