Mohawk Industries' (Calhoun, Ga.) net income rose 50 percent during the third quarter of 2010, while net sales decreased roughly 5.3 percent. The company reported third quarter net income of $51 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, compared with $34 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, during the third quarter of 2009.
