WFCA Gains New Leadership

Jim Walters, president of Macco's Floor Covering in Green Bay, Wis., was elected chairman of the board during the World Floor Covering Association's (WFCA) spring meeting in New Orleans; Walters' new position will become effective July 1, and current chairman Nick Freadreacea will become immediate past chairman.

Also during the meeting, the group's directors elected Harold Chapman, Bonitz Flooring Group (Greenville, S.C.), chairman-elect and confirmed these additions to its executive committee:

• Vice Chairmen: Dennis Blake, Better Floors & Restorations (Placentia, Calif.) and Scott Walker, Walker's Carpet One Floor & Home (Bellingham, Wash.)
• Corporate Secretary: Janice Clifton, Abbey Carpets Unlimited (Napa, Calif.)
• Treasurer/CFO: Paul F. Johnson, Interiors One Inc., Carpet One, (Tulsa, Okla.).

These individuals will serve on the group's executive committee for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012, along with WFCA President and CEO D. Christopher Davis.

In addition, WFCA directors confirmed directors-which are elected by the association's members-to its board for three-year terms. Newly confirmed directors include:

• Maryanne Adams, Avalon Carpet, Tile & Flooring (Cherry Hill, N.J.)
• Bob Caputo, Carpetland of Dothan Inc. (Dothan, Ala.)
• Kelby Frederick, My Flooring America (Denton, Texas)
• Howard Partridge, Clean As A Whistle Inc. (Sugar Land, Texas).

Phil Koufidakis, Baker Bros. (Phoenix), and Mark Weaver, Carpet Weavers (Bloomington, Ill.) were re-confirmed for an additional three-year term. Keith Campbell, Mannington Mills (Salem, N.J.), was re-elected by the directors to a three-year term as an associate director.
