Prova Docs, a web-based documentation software solution built by NWFA-certified inspector and former installer Danjel Akrap, is now available to wood flooring contractors who want a verifiable record of jobsite conditions, from delivery through installation.
Akrap, who is based in Texas and entering his fifth year as an inspector, told WFB the idea came from asking installers for records during failure inspections and consistently being told none existed. “I’ve been involved in several cases where there was no installer’s fault, but they had no way to prove that they did their due diligence,” he said.
The platform walks installers through exterior, interior, and substrate evaluations; moisture and pH testing; adhesive acclimation and finish details, following NWFA guidelines. Entering temperature and relative humidity at delivery automatically calculates equilibrium moisture content; installers then log plank readings—up to 40 per 1,000 square feet—and the system averages them and confirms whether the wood is within 2% of EMC. Readings are repeated at installation and job completion. Installers can add photos, PDFs and manufacturer maintenance instructions.
Installers also get a public profile that includes services, service areas, licensing and insurance. A companion mobile app with photo uploads is in development; no release date has been set. Akrap also offers free online EMC and dew point calculators.
Prova Docs is subscription-based, with tiers scaled to crew size. For more information, visit provadocs.com.
