TRADA Releases Wood ID App for iPhone, iPad

The United Kingdom's Timber Research and Development Association (TRADA) has released a free Wood Species Guide app for the iPhone and iPad. Created for architecture, construction and furniture professionals, the species guide helps users select the most suitable wood species for a project. Users get access to physical properties and illustrations for 40 commercial species for free, while access to 100 additional species is available for $6.99. Users can search species by name, appropriate uses, durability, color and movement characteristics. The app can be downloaded via iTunes.
