Lumber Liquidators Inc. (Toano, Va.) recently donated $8,000 in bamboo flooring to the Ronald McDonald House of Pittsburgh as part of its Lay It Forward program. The Pittsburgh location is the fifth largest Ronald McDonald House in the nation, able to house up to 60 families that have relocated for a hospitalized child.

"When we built the space, the doctors requested that we have a cleanable floor, which meant no carpet. So going with a hardwood floor was really important," said Jill Cumnock, CEO of the Ronald McDonald House-Dallas, in a statement. "The hardwood flooring from Lumber Liquidators allows us to keep the homes as clean as possible--they're so easy to care for. Plus, the floors add to the space with their coziness, warmth and certainly their durability."
Since 2007, Lumber Liquidators has donated more than 250,000 square feet of flooring to Ronald McDonald Houses.
