Kennebec Lumber Company (Solon, Maine), maker of Maine Traditions Hardwood Flooring, is constructing three new kilns, each capable of drying 60,000 board feet, increasing overall capacity to 1 million board feet. The computer-controlled, propane-fired kilns are expected to be operational by March 2014.

Kennebec has hired 20 new employees this year and expects an additional 40 employees throughout 2014 to satisfy its continued expansion plans, supporting growth in both its flooring and lumber divisions.
