On March 17 the two companies released a joint statement that reads:
Powernail Company, Inc., the premier manufacturer of pneumatic nailers and flooring cleats used in the installation of tongue & groove hardwood flooring and sub-flooring for over 65 years, announced today that it has resolved its patent infringement dispute under U.S. Patent No. 8,186,554 with Prime Global Products.
As part of the resolution, Prime Global has agreed to cease manufacturing and selling in the U.S. its "Freeman Mini Palm Cleat Flooring Nailer Model No. PMPCN" and Powernail has agreed to release Prime Global's customers of such product, both direct and downstream, from claims relating to Powernail's patent for pre-Agreement sales.
"There were no admissions of liability by any party. Powernail will continue to distribute its patented Power Palm™ pneumatic nailer through various retailers and on-line. The other terms of the settlement are confidential.
