After years of watching janitors and floor maintenance workers use a tennis ball on the end of a stick to rub away floor scuff marks, an inventor from Tennessee has patented a prototype and is searching for manufacturers to bring the contraption to market.
The "Magic Whing-Ding" is a "stick with a ball on the end," according to a release from invention marketing service InventHelp. The product comes in home and commercial versions (the latter has a longer pole).
The product can be used on wood, vinyl and ceramic flooring.
“I am a custodian, and I’ve used a hand-made model like this one for six years,” said the inventor, who was not named in the the statement. “I made it because I needed something to erase scuff marks without having to bend over. People kept making comments about how it really worked. That inspired me to pursue my idea.”
