Contact Industries (Clackamas, Ore.) has hired John Ferry as president, while former president Frank Pearson will fill the newly created CEO role.
This is the first foray for Ferry into the wood products business—Contact Industries does veneer profile wrapping, or adhering wood veneers to a wide range of building components.
Ferry has 20 years of senior management experience. He has held president and chief financial officer roles at a number of companies, including engineering and manufacturing businesses such as Sikorsky and Smiths Aerospace. Ferry also has experience with large OEM companies.
"While wood products is a new industry for me, there are many parallels to my previous manufacturing experience and the perspective I gained from aerospace and other industries will be valuable as we navigate the many diverse markets for the capabilities we have to offer," Ferry said in a statement.
As the new CEO, Pearson will turn attention toward long-term growth strategies, including product development and new market initiatives.
