Volunteers recently installed a court for the St. Paul Civic Center in St. Paul, Neb., that will bring back memories of victory for the community.
The court used to be inside the Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln, Neb., the same court that boys and girls basketball teams played on when they each won a state championship in the 1990s, according to The Grand Island Independent.
The court was bought in an online auction for $40,000. Volunteers helped install, sand and finish the court in its new home.
“There’s a lot of history with our town winning games on this floor, and to bring it back home and put it here where the youth of those kids can use it for years and years and years down the road” is fitting, St. Paul School Superintendent John Poppert told The Independent.
