European Panel Federation to Introduce Formaldehyde Emission Standards

The European Panel Federation is launching a voluntary formaldehyde emissions standard, according to EUWID.

The European Low Emission Standards will be 0.065 ppm for particleboard and plywood and 0.1 ppm for MDF/HDF, OSB, hard fiberboard and wood-fiber insulation board.

The limits for particleboard and MDF are tighter than the limits in the United States of 0.09 ppm and 0.11 ppm, respectively.
