App Lets Users Test Out Wood Floor Products Via Google Cardboard

Virtual reality isn’t just for video games.

The Planner 5D interior design app allows users to map their space and test out how different products make the environment look, including wood flooring from Lithuanian manufacturer Volunta Parket. Volunta is the first wood flooring company to partner with the app.

“We are trying to find our unique way how to mix time-honored woodworking skills with innovations,” said Aušrinė Saurusevičiūtė, head of marketing for Volunta, in a statement. “By demonstrating our customers parquet in 3D, we want customers to experience … how their chosen color or pattern would look like in their home.”

The app is designed for use with the Google Cardboard virtual reality device. More information is available on Volunta’s website.
