The king won’t be dethroned. Robert O’Connell of O’Connell’s Custom Concepts won the 2017 Fastest Nailer in the East competition during Nailer Day at City Floor Supply (King of Prussia) March 16.
O’Connell, the champion in 2013, 2014 and 2015 (a fire at the distributor cancelled the contest in 2016), nailed 18 square feet of 2¼-inch-wide red oak select flooring in 3:04, beating the competition by a comfortable 39 seconds. Second place went to Ricardo Silva of FHR Flooring with a time of 3:43 seconds. Third place went to Leon Margarite of Walsh Hardwood Flooring with a time of 3:45.
In the team division, Silva and Michel Guimaraes of FHR won with a time of 2:20. The Friends and Family division winner was Miguel Angel Barradas of City Floor Supply with a time of 4:42.
Next year’s Nailer Day and Fastest Nailer contest will be held March 15.
