Mohawk’s Drastic Reduction in Water Use

Mohawk Industries (Calhoun, Ga.) has reduced its water usage by 277 million gallons since 2015, according to its 2016 Sustainability Report, released April 24.

The annual report also shares that Mohawk recycled 7.1 billion pounds of waste in 2016 and reduced its greenhouse gas intensity by 12.8 percent, energy intensity by 1.9 percent and water intensity by 35 percent since 2010.

“Our sustainability practices reflect the commitment of our company and the passion of our people,” said CEO Jeff Lorberbaum in a statement. “We continue to push the boundaries of sustainability with innovative new products and processes because we believe in—and are willing to invest in—a better tomorrow.”
