The windows and doors at Damien Hardwood Floors (Weymouth, Mass.) were blown out after a fire that started by sawdust spontaneously combusting ripped through the building on Aug. 24, according to The Boston Globe.
The sawdust, which was mixed with a “floor finishing” product, combusted inside a vacuum in a commercial vehicle parked between Damien’s building and a neighboring house. The sawdust that combusted was left over inside the vacuum after workers had removed and discarded the disposable bag from the vacuum, fire officials told The Globe.
Authorities also said workers had recently put out a similar fire in the vacuum.
Damien’s did not immediately respond to a call for comment.
