Floor Covering Industry to Fund Research Into Scope of Installer Shortage

The Floor Covering Leadership Council, a coalition of floor industry trade associations, will fund research to illuminate the severity of the installer shortage and find potential solutions.

A task force of FCLC member volunteers has been appointed to develop the request for the research proposal and find a third-party research firm to lead the effort. The research project is planned to be completed in early 2018.

The project was established at the FCLC’s annual fall meeting on Aug. 16 in Orlando, Fla. The meeting was held in conjunction with the Second Annual Installation Summit, which brought together industry professionals to discuss the installer shortage.

The FCLC had announced it would place the installation shortage at the top of its priority list during its meeting at The International Surface Event in Las Vegas last February.
