3M (St. Paul, Minn.) announced this week that Michael F. Roman will take over as its chief executive officer, effective July 1.
Roman will succeed Inge G. Thulin in the position. Thulin will be appointed as executive chairman of the board, a newly created position within the company. He will also begin his new role July 1.
Roman, 58, has worked as chief operating officer since July 2017, and has held various other leadership positions within 3M for the past 30 years.
As executive chairman of the board, Thulin will work closely with Roman on long-term strategic initiatives.
