The importance of having a quality website is growing for retailers in the home improvement industry, according to a survey by J.D. Power.
The 2019 Home Improvement Retailer Satisfaction Study found that 41% of home improvement retailer customers research and/or shop online before making an in-store purchase. Those same customers also spend an average of $620 more annually on home improvement products than customers who do not go online before making a purchase.
While retailer websites are important tools for those clients, overall satisfaction for those who visit home improvement retailer websites is 821 on a 1,000-point scale, which is lower than manufacturer websites (832), image and video sharing websites (843) and social networking websites (869).
