Anthony “Tony” Kelly, former president and CEO of Mannington Mills, died Jan. 3, in Charleston, S.C., at the age of 88.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, Kelly moved to the U.S. in 1963, earning a master's degree and Ph.D. from Columbia University. He served as president and CEO of Mannington from 1992 until his retirement in 2001. Along with Mannington’s Keith Campbell and Tom Davis, Kelly is credited with developing the company’s core values, which it still abides by today: Care, Do the Right Thing, Work Hard/Play Hard and Control Our Own Destiny.
“We are incredibly grateful for all Tony’s contributions, and extend our deepest sympathies to his family, especially his wife of 60 years, Sheila,” Zack Zehner, Mannington Mills chairman, said in a statement.
