Michael Martin, the president and CEO of the National Wood Flooring Association since 2011, stepped down from his role "to pursue a new opportunity" on March 1, the NWFA said in an email to members on March 3.
Stephanie Owen, who has worked at NWFA for 10 years in capacities including the development of the NWFA's online university, is now the interim CEO, and the association's board of directors will conduct a search for a new CEO.
"After 14 years of continued expansion and growth, NWFA has a team in place that will continue its success as I move in a new direction with a local interior design firm and to develop my own consulting firm. I'm grateful for the leadership opportunity as well as the friendships developed through NWFA," Martin said in the email.
