AHF Products received approval from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia to acquire the assets of the Wellmade Performance Flooring manufacturing facility in Cartersville, Ga.
“This is more than an asset purchase—it’s a strategic expansion,” AHF Products CEO Brent Emore said in a statement. “With rigid core representing approximately 80% of the residential resilient market, this facility completes our domestic manufacturing portfolio and strengthens our leadership as a U.S.-based hard surface flooring manufacturer.”
Wellmade Performance Flooring filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Aug. 4 following a March labor-trafficking probe.
On March 26, agents from the FBI, Homeland Security Investigations and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation executed search warrants against Wellmade Industries and several homes in Georgia believed to be employee housing.
Federal officials allege the suspects used fraud and coercion to recruit immigrant workers, many from China, and subjected them to harsh working conditions for little pay.
The Cartersville plant will now be wholly owned and operated by AHF.
“This plant fills a critical gap in our portfolio,” Emore continued. “It ensures we have domestic manufacturing across all key hard surface categories.”
